SHADOWMASK ASSEMBLY

PURPOSE:To improve work efficiency by arranging an opening, larger than a spring hole, on a side surface of a support frame corresponding to the spring hole of a spring which is to serve as a work reference position, thereby facilitating the alignment of a panel pin and the spring hole. CONSTITUTION:A shadow mask supporting body 1 is fixed at a skirt portion 2a of a shadow mask 2 to a support frame 3. A multiplicity of springs 4 are fixed to the frame 3, with a side surface portion corresponding to a spring hole 4a provided with an opening 3a of an opening diameter larger than that of the spring hole. A panel 5 is fixed in a condition tilted by 30 deg.. The springs 4 at the positions A and B at left and right of the shadow mask supporting body 1 are deflected inward by finger pressure. The spring hole 4a at the lower position (work reference position) C is aligned to a panel pin 6 of the panel 5. Since the spring hole 4a and the panel pin 6 can be confirmed through the opening 3a bored in the frame 3, position aligning is facilitated. Also, since the aligning can be performed without bringing the shadow mask 2 into contact with the panel 5, deformation thereof is prevented.
