Zusammenfassung:	The aggregate comprises individual carbon fibers aggregated to form a body which has a round surface, and which has bulk density higher than that of the loose starting fibers. Specifically fiber length is up to 10mm and the formed body is ball-shaped, ellipsoidal, or cylindrical, the contained fibers being mutually parallel. Carbon fiber aggregate prodn. method and appts. comprises circulating loose fibes by gaseous fluid in a circular working chamber, for predetermined time long enough to compact the fibers into an aggregate with a round surface. Pref. the fibers are fed into the chamber in the gaseous circulating stream, via a tangential inlet passage.
