Zusammenfassung:	A sulphactive CO conversion catalyst comprises(a) an aluminous catalyst carrier; (b) a catalytically active metal compd. from Co or Ni oxide or sulphide or an oxide or sulphide of Gp.(V), (VI), or (VII) transition element; (c) a promotional amt. alkali metal compd., pref. K2CO3; and (d) a promotional amt. oxide or sulphide of fourth period metal at number 22-25 inclusive, pref. Mn as less than 5 wt.%, expressed as the oxide. CO is catalytically converted with steam to form H2 and CO2, by passing a synthesis gas mixt. of CO and steam, over the catalyst, at 150-540 deg.C but above the dew point of the sybthesis gas mixt.; and at pressure below the dew point pressure of the gas mixt.
