Zusammenfassung: | Unsolidified metal in a continuously cast strand is electromagnetically stired by a magnetic field formed by passing alternating curent through at least one set of coils. The current in one coil differs in frequency from that in the other, to form a varying composite magnetic field. This produces a stirring movement of varying direction and intensity in the molten metal. For frequency ranges of 1 to 20 Hz., and 50 to 60Hz., the differences are 0.04 to 0.20 Hz, and 0.06 to 0.2Hz respectively. The max. flux density of the field is 100 to 2300 gauss at the matal surface. |
