Zusammenfassung:The antibiotic SEN-143 is produced by culturing streptomyces griseochromogenes SEN-143. Thus, the microorganism is aerobically cultured at 28 C for 48-72 hrs. in a medium contg. sol. starch(1), soybean flour (1), NaCl (0.5), NH4Cl (0.15), and CaCO3 (0.3%). The wet cells (1.3 kg) are prepd. by sepg. the resultant cultures. SEN- 143 has the appearance of a white powder, m.p. of 214-217 C; elementary analysis C 57.54%, H 8.84%, N 0%; angle of specific rotation= -4.2 (C is 1.0%, methanol); UV, 1R absorption spectrum and H-NMR are specified. It is soluble in diethyl formamide, dimethyl sulfoxide and methanol, insoluble in benzene, petroleum ether and hexane and is stable.
