Zusammenfassung:	Light lubricating base oils are produced by hydrodesulphurizing a feed oil; subjecting to >= 1 solvent dewaxing to remove wax and vacuum redistillation to obtain lubricating oil fractions and then solvent extracting the oil or oil fractions. The feed oil is a vacuum gas oil opt. admixed with deasphalted oil of vacuum residue. Pref. the oil is hydrodesulphurizing, dewaxed, redistilled and extracted in that order.
