Zusammenfassung:A burnable poison rod (73) is supported in a bore (80) formed in a spider arm (81). The rod has a projecting stem (76) at one end which rests in the bore. The stem has a transverse flange which retains it in the bore. A groove is formed in the flange to define a predetermined weak point. Application of a longitudinal force breaks the stem from the flange at the groove and allows the rod to be withdrawn. Poison rods in a fuel assembly can be easily removed from a spider rapidly and reliably under remote control.
