A power conditioning system according to an aspect comprises a processor configured to: identify a first grid frequency deviation and a measurement frequency, according to injection of reactive power; identify whether at least one of the first grid frequency deviation and the measurement frequency is outside a threshold range; and detect whether there is islanding on the basis of the number of times of being outside the threshold range during a predefined period of time.
