An energy storage system according to an aspect includes a processor for: identifying a first power amount of a load by using first measurement information received from at least one measurement device; identifying a second power amount of the load by using second measurement information received from the measurement device according to a change in charging power amount of a battery; identifying an occurrence of a power fluctuation of the load on the basis of a difference between the first power amount and the second power amount; and detecting incorrect installation of the measurement device on the basis of the number of occurrences of power fluctuations.
