METHOD AND SYSTEM FOR CONTROLLING DISPLAY OF MESSAGE ASSOCIATED WITH FREEZED CHAT ROOM IN INSTANT MESSAGING SERVICE

The present disclosure provides a method for message output associated with chat room freezing in an instant messaging service, the method being performed by at least one processor of a user terminal. The method comprises the steps of: receiving, from a user, a request to freeze a particular chat room or the request to freeze the particular chat room and a request to configure a freezing period for which freezing is continued; after receiving the request to freeze the particular chat room, stop receiving, from a server, one or more messages generated in association with the particular chat room; and receiving one or more messages from the server in response to reception of, from the user, a request to unfreeze the particular chat room, or passage of a period corresponding to the configuration of the freezing period.
