본 발명은 네트워크 스위치의 데이터를 활용하여 OTA 롬 데이터의 이상 여부를 모니터링하는 OTA 롬 데이터 모니터링 장치 및 그 방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에 의하면, 모니터링부가, 차량 내 OTA 업데이트 대상 제어기에 네트워크 스위치를 통해 OTA 롬 데이터가 전달되는 과정에서, 네트워크 스위치의 포트 각각의 데이터 통신에 대한 정보를 모니터링하고, 제어부가, 모니터링된 포트 각각의 데이터 통신에 대한 정보 및 기 정의된 OTA 업데이트 대상 제어기에 OTA 롬 데이터가 전달되는 과정에서 네트워크 스위치가 처리하는 통신에 대한 정보를 기반으로, OTA 롬 데이터의 이상 여부를 판단할 수 있다. 본 발명을 통해, OTA 업데이트의 안정성을 향상시키는 효과를 제공할 수 있다.
