Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a tetramethyl biphenol epoxy resin and a preparing method thereof. More specifically, the content of metal cations contained in the tetramethyl biphenol epoxy resin can be reduced by adding a purification process using carboxylic acid during a tetramethyl biphenol epoxy resin production process, thereby improving the purity of the tetramethyl biphenol epoxy resin. 본 발명은 테트라메틸비페놀형 에폭시 수지 및 이의 제조방법에 관한 것으로서, 보다 상세하게는, 상기 테트라메틸비페놀형 에폭시 수지 제조 공정 중에 카르복실산을 이용한 정제 공정을 추가하여 상기 테트라메틸비페놀형 에폭시 수지에 포함된 금속 양이온의 함량을 저하시킬 수 있고, 이에 따라 상기 테트라메틸비페놀형 에폭시 수지의 순도를 향상시킬 수 있다.
