DUAL-BEARING REEL

The objective of the present invention is to suppress an increase in the size of a reel body on a handle side in an axial direction, and to improve operability. A dual-bearing reel comprises: a drive gear shaft (41) having a shaft base end portion (41a) rotatably supported by a right side plate (11A) of a frame (11), and a shaft front end portion (41b) rotatably supported by a right cover (12) and connected to a handle (20), and rotatably installed in a reel body (10); a roller clutch (60) installed in the shaft base end portion (41a) and restricting rotation of the drive gear shaft (41) in one direction; a retainer (61) restricting movement of the drive gear shaft (41) in the axial direction with respect to the reel body (10); and a stopper gear (62) disposed closer to the right side plate (11A) than the retainer (61) in the axial direction of the drive gear shaft (41), and switching a clutch mechanism (50) from a disconnected state to a transmitted state based on rotation of the drive gear shaft (41).
