ACCESS CONTROL SYSTEM AND METHOD USING FACIAL RECOGNITION AND GESTURES

The present invention relates to an access control system and an access control method using facial recognition and gestures, which uses the face and gestures of a person that is an object to control access. The access control system of the present invention comprises: an information database where facial information of objects that can enter into and exit from a given area, gesture information corresponding to each object, and access information are recorded; a camera capturing the faces and gestures of the person entering into and exiting from the given area; an image processing unit recognizing the face of the object captured by the camera and a gesture when the gesture is inputted and processing the face and gesture recognized by the camera into face information and gesture information respectively to store the processed information in the information database; and an access control unit opening a door to allow entry when at least one of face recognition and gesture recognition matches each face information and gesture information stored in the information database according to settings for each person entering the given area with security set. Accordingly, when access is denied due to an error in face recognition, access can be allowed by using gestures. In addition, gestures are set for each object, so that the object that entered the gesture can be recognized. 본 발명은 객체가 되는 사람의 안면과 제스쳐를 이용하여 출입을 제어할 수 있는 안면인식과 제스쳐를 이용한 출입 제어 시스템 및 방법에 관한 것으로서, 소정의 지역에 출입 가능한 객체들의 얼굴정보, 각각의 객체들에 대응하는 제스쳐정보 및 출입정보를 기록하는 정보 데이터베이스; 소정의 지역에 출입하는 사람의 얼굴과 제스쳐를 촬영하는 카메라; 상기 카메라에 의해 촬영된 객체의 열굴을 인지하고 제스쳐가 입력되는 경우 이를 인지하며, 카메라를 통해 인식된 얼굴 및 제스쳐를 각각 얼굴정보 및 제스쳐정보로 가공하여 상기 정보 데이터베이스에 저장하도록 하는 영상처리부; 및 상기 보안이 설정된 소정의 지역에 출입하는 출입자 별로 설정에 따라 얼굴인식 및 제스쳐 인식 중 적어도 어느 하나가 상기 정보 데이터베이스에 저장된 각각의 얼굴정보 및 제스쳐정보와 일치하는 경우 문을 개방시켜 출입을 허용하는 출입제어부;를 포함하여 구성되어 얼굴인식 오류로 인하여 출입이 안되는 경우 제스쳐를 이용하여 출입할 수 있으며 객체 별로 제스쳐를 설정하여 제스쳐를 입력한 객체를 인지하도록 할 수 있는 효과가 있다.
