Zusammenfassung:Disclosed are an electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery that can improve the thermal stability of a lithium secondary battery including a lithium nickel cobalt manganese-based positive electrode active material by controlling the type and ratio of salt and a solvent contained in an electrolyte, and a lithium secondary battery including the same. The electrolyte for a lithium secondary battery includes: lithium salt including first lithium salt and second lithium salt; and a solvent, wherein the first lithium salt includes lithium hexafluorophosphate, and the second lithium salt includes lithium bis(fluorosulfonyl)imide or lithium bis(trifluorosulfonyl)imide. 전해액에 포함되는 염과 용매의 종류 및 비율을 조절하여 리튬 니켈코발트망간계 양극 활물질을 포함하는 리튬 이차전지의 열적 안정성을 향상시킬 수 있는 리튬 이차전지용 전해액 및 이를 포함하는 리튬 이차전지가 개시된다. 상기 리튬 이차전지용 전해액은, 제1 리튬염 및 제2 리튬염을 포함하는 리튬염; 및 용매;를 포함하며, 상기 제1 리튬염이 리튬 헥사플루오로포스페이트를 포함하고, 상기 제2 리튬염이 리튬 비스(플루오로설포닐)이미드 또는 리튬 비스(트리플루오로설포닐)이미드를 포함하는 것을 특징으로 한다.
