Zusammenfassung:The objective of the present invention is to provide a cutting apparatus capable of preventing the occurrence of machining defects due to incorrect installation of a cutting blade. To achieve this, the cutting apparatus comprises: a chuck table holding a workpiece by a holding surface; a cutting unit including a spindle on which a cutting blade is mounted at the distal end, which cuts the workpiece held by the holding surface; an imaging unit capturing an image of the outer periphery of the cutting blade mounted on the cutting unit; and a determination unit determining the direction of the cutting blade. A plurality of protrusion parts including a first surface sending out cutting debris generated when cutting the workpiece with the cutting blade and a second surface connected to the first surface are formed on the outer periphery of the cutting blade. The determination unit determines the direction of the cutting blade mounted on the cutting unit on the basis of the image of the protrusion parts acquired by the imaging unit.
