Zusammenfassung: | The present invention relates to a denitrification catalyst for thermal power plants, which maintains excellent denitrification performance even under exhaust gas conditions containing high concentrations of nitrogen dioxide generated during initial operation of a thermal power plant, and a method for manufacturing the same. The denitrification catalyst is a denitrification catalyst for removing nitrogen oxides from exhaust gas where NO_2/NO_x >= 0.5 or more. The denitrification catalyst includes vanadium/tungsten/titanium and manganese, and the manganese includes both α-Mn_2O_3 and Mn_3O_4 structures. Accordingly, the formation of ammonium nitrate (NH_4NO_3) and the generation of nitrous oxide (N_2O) can be suppressed.
