Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a cut-in determination apparatus and a method thereof. The cut-in determination apparatus according to one embodiment of the present invention comprises: a sensor which senses surroundings of a vehicle and creates a point cloud; and a control unit which calculates a distance from a starting point to an obstacle based on the point cloud, calculates a distance ratio based on the distance to the obstacle, and analyzes the distance ratio using an artificial neural network to determine whether a surrounding vehicle is cut-in and the cut-in direction. Accordingly, a computational load is minimized and accuracy of judgment performance increases. As a result, the cut-in vehicle can be determined quickly and accurately. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 컷인 판단 장치는 차량의 주변을 감지하여 포인트 클라우드를 생성하는 센서 및 상기 포인트 클라우드를 기반으로 시작 포인트로부터 상기 장애물까지의 거리를 산출하고, 상기 장애물까지의 거리를 기반으로 거리 비율을 산출하며, 인공 신경망을 이용하여 상기 거리 비율을 분석하여 주변 차량의 컷인 여부 및 컷인 방향을 판단하는 제어부를 포함하여, 연산 부하를 최소화하며, 판단 성능의 정확도를 높여 컷인 차량을 빠르고 정확하게 판단할 수 있다.
