MEMORY SYSTEM FOR PERFORMING A RECOVERY OPERATION A MEMORY DEVICE AND AN OPERATING METHOD THEREOF

A memory system, a memory device, and an operation method thereof are disclosed. A memory controller detects a first memory block having a deterioration count greater than or equal to a reference value and transmits a command to the memory device. In response to the command, the memory device applies a first voltage to all of the plurality of word lines connected to the first memory block and applies a second voltage to the bit line of the first memory block. The first voltage is higher than the voltage applied to turn on memory cells connected to all of the plurality of word lines connected to the first memory block. The second voltage is higher than the voltage applied to the bit line during a program operation, read operation, or erase operation for the memory device.
