SYSTEM FOR MEASURING INSULATION RESISTANCE AND METHOD OF THE SAME

A leakage resistance measuring system of the present invention comprises: a switching unit which provides one of a power supply voltage or ground voltage to one of a ground or battery output terminal in response to a control signal, and provides the other of the power supply voltage or ground voltage to the other of the ground or battery output terminal; a buffer unit which amplifies a ground current flowing from the ground in response to either the power supply voltage or the ground voltage, an output current flowing from the high and low voltage terminals of a battery in response to the other of the power supply voltage or ground voltage, and a reference current flowing from the battery output terminal; and a control unit which uses the amplified ground current, output current, and reference current to calculate a synthetic leakage resistance between the ground and the high voltage terminal of the battery and between the ground and the low voltage terminal of the battery, and uses the ratio of the output current and the synthetic leakage resistance to calculate a first leakage resistance between the ground and the high voltage terminal of the battery and a second leakage resistance between the ground and the low voltage terminal of the battery, wherein the ground voltage has a voltage level greater than zero.
