COMPOSITION FOR PREVENTING OR IMPROVING ORAL DISEASES COMPRISING AN EXTRACT OF SAUSSUREA NEOSERRATA

The present invention relates to a composition for preventing and alleviating oral diseases, wherein when a Saussurea neoserrata extract is contained as an active ingredient, there is no concern about side effects from long-term use due to the use of natural products; in a periodontal disease-induced model, contents of IL-1β, TNF-α, and MDA in the gingival tissue are reduced, osteoclast formation is reduced, and periodontal bone mass is increased; and through a reduction in the total aerobic viable cell count in oral isthmuses in a periodontal disease-induced model, saliva secretion is improved while showing activity in preventing or alleviating periodontal diseases so as to alleviate mouth dryness.
