Zusammenfassung: | A method for an augmented reality device to control a depth sensor to generate a depth map is provided. The method comprises the steps of: sensing motion of an augmented reality device worn by a user; identifying a user's activity based on the motion of the augmented reality device; determining an optical pattern of emission light to be emitted from a depth sensor of the augmented reality device based on the identified activity; controlling the depth sensor to emit emission light in a determined light pattern; receiving reflected light in which the emission light is reflected by at least one object; and generating a depth map based on the emission light and the received reflected light. By identifying the activity of the user wearing the augmented reality device and determining the optical pattern of the emission light, it is possible to reduce the amount of power consumed by the depth sensor.
