APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR PREDICTING FAILURE OF DISTRIBUTION LINES

Disclosed are a fault prediction device and method for distribution lines. The fault prediction device for distribution lines according to one aspect of the present invention comprises: a type classification processing unit for classifying the type of a power waveform acquired from a device of a distribution line and storing the type-classified power waveform as a time series class matrix; a failure event processing unit for calculating a failure event vector at the time of failure when a failure event occurs in the acquired power waveform and calculating a class matrix by calculating the failure event vector and the time-series class matrix; and a preliminary failure pattern extraction unit for extracting a preliminary failure pattern using the class matrix.
