Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a composition for the prevention and alleviation of retinal diseases comprising curcumin as an active ingredient. By including curcumin at a low concentration, there is no cytotoxicity, and the proliferative ability of human retinal pigment epithelial cells is improved by increasing telomerase activity. Therefore, the composition can be used for preventing and alleviating retinal diseases. 본 발명은 커큐민을 유효성분으로 포함하는 망막 질환의 예방 및 개선용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 저농도의 커큐민을 포함함으로써 세포 독성이 없을 뿐만 아니라, 텔로머라제 활성을 증가시켜 인간 망막색소상피세포의 증식능을 개선할 수 있으며, 이를 망막 질환의 예방 및 개선의 용도로 이용할 수 있다.
