Knee air bag and control method for deploying the knee air bag

The present invention relates to a knee air bag, which is applied to a slimmed crash pad design to reduce an injury of a leg portion of a passenger, and an expansion control method thereof. The knee air bag comprises: a first cushion expanded toward the passenger inside a crash pad to fill a lower space of the crash pad; and a second cushion expanded between the first cushion and the passenger to support legs of the passenger while supported by the first cushion. 본 발명은 슬림화된 크래시패드 디자인에 적용하여 승객 다리 부분의 상해를 저감하는 무릎 에어백 및 그 전개 제어방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명에서는, 크래시패드의 안쪽에서 승객을 향해 전개되어 크래시패드 하부의 공간을 채우는 제1쿠션; 상기 제1쿠션과 승객 사이에 전개되어 제1쿠션에 지지되면서 승객의 다리를 지지하는 제2쿠션;을 포함하여 구성되는 무릎 에어백 및 그 전개 제어방법이 소개된다.
