Zusammenfassung:Provided is a charged particle beam irradiation system that can appropriately make a target irradiated with a charged particle beam. A snout degrader (30) performs adjustment of penumbra of the charged particle beam (B), so that irradiation with the charged particle beam (B) to the outside of a tumor (14) can be suppressed when an irradiation unit (2) performs irradiation with respect to an area adjacent to a boundary of the tumor (14), wherein a maintaining unit (60) maintaining the snout degrader (30) is arranged in the irradiation unit (2). Therefore, location adjustment between the charged particle beam (B) with which the tumor (14) is irradiated and the snout degrader (30) can be readily performed. While the penumbra is adjusted at a proper location, the irradiation unit (2) can make the tumor (14) irradiated with the charged particle beam (B).
