The present invention relates to an in-cable control apparatus and a control method thereof. In addition, the in-cable control apparatus of the present invention comprises: a main body unit in which a plug and a charging outlet are respectively connected to both ends and which has main relays for supplying power to an AC single-phase; a sub-main body unit provided to be detachable, coupled to the main body unit, and having sub-relays for supplying a three-phase power; and a control unit mounted on the main body unit and controlling the main relays and the sub-relays in the AC single-phase or a three-phase depending on whether or not the sub-main body unit is coupled. Therefore, the in-cable control apparatus is changed to the AC single-phase or the three-phase at any time according to user's need so that charging can be performed. 본 발명은 인 케이블 제어 장치 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 또한, 본 발명은 플러그와 충전 아울렛이 양단에 각각 연결되고 AC 단상의 전원 공급을 위한 메인 릴레이들을 구비하는 메인 본체부와, 탈부착 가능하도록 구비되어 상기 메인 본체부에 결합되며 3상의 전원 공급을 위한 서브 릴레이들을 구비하는 서브 본체부와, 메인 본체부에 탑재되고 서브 본체부의 결합 여부에 따라 AC 단상 또는 3상으로 메인 릴레이들과 서브 릴레이들을 제어하는 제어부를 구비함으로써, 사용자의 필요에 따라 언제든지 AC 단상 또는 3상으로 변경하여 충전을 할 수 있도록 한다.
