The present invention discloses a semiconductor device capable of reducing leakage current. The semiconductor device of the present invention includes: a source region, a drain region, and a gate insulating film formed on a substrate; a gate electrode formed on the gate insulating film; a first insulating layer pattern in contact with one side of the gate electrode and extended from the source region to a portion of the upper surface of the gate electrode; a spacer formed on the other side of the gate electrode in the direction of the drain region; and a gate silicide layer formed between the first insulating layer pattern and the spacer. 본 발명은 누설 전류를 줄일 수 있는 반도체 소자를 개시한다. 본 발명의 반도체 소자는, 기판에 형성된 소스 영역과 드레인 영역과 게이트 절연막과, 상기 게이트 절연막 상에 형성된 게이트 전극, 상기 게이트 전극의 일측면과 접하고, 상기 소스 영역부터 상기 게이트 전극의 상면 일부까지 연장되어 형성된 제1 절연막 패턴, 상기 드레인 영역 방향으로, 상기 게이트 전극의 타측면에 형성된 스페이서, 및 상기 제1 절연막 패턴과 상기 스페이서 사이에 형성된 게이트 실리사이드 층을 포함하는 구성된다.
