Zusammenfassung:The present invention relates to a sulfonated polyethersulfone copolymer, a composite membrane for an ion exchange membrane including the same, an ion exchange membrane including the composite membrane, a fuel cell including the ion exchange membrane, a method for preparing the copolymer and a method for manufacturing the composite membrane for an ion exchange membrane. The copolymer according to the present invention is prepared by polymerizing a partially fluorinated phenolic polymer with bis-(4-fluorophenyl)sulfone to obtain random polyethersulfone (PES), and sulfonating the PES to obtain a copolymer. In this manner, it is possible to maximize affinity with Nafion by partially introducing fluorine atoms and to impart improved proton conductivity through the sulfonation, while minimizing the sulfonation degree to improve the water content and oxidation stability. In addition, the composite membrane for an ion exchange membrane according to the present invention has lower hydrogen permeability as compared to Nafion, while providing excellent proton conductivity and improved mechanical properties. Additionally, it is possible to form a uniform composite membrane with no phase separation or swelling phenomenon by enhancing the affinity between Nafion and the copolymer. Further, when applying the composite membrane for an ion exchange membrane to a fuel cell, it is possible to significantly improve the performance and life characteristics of the cell. 본 발명은 술폰화된 폴리에테르술폰 공중합체, 이를 포함하는 이온 교환막용 복합막, 상기 복합막을 포함하는 이온 교환막, 상기 이온 교환막을 포함하는 연료전지, 상기 공중합체의 제조방법 및 상기 이온 교환막용 복합막의 제조방법에 관한 것으로, 본 발명의 공중합체는 부분 불소화 페놀계 고분자와 비스-(4-플루오로페닐)-설폰을 중합하여 랜덤형 폴리에테르술폰(PES)을 합성한 후 이를 술폰화하여 공중합체를 합성함으로써 불소 원자를 부분적으로 도입하여 나피온(Nafion)과의 친화력을 극대화하고, 술폰화 반응을 통해 향상된 수소이온 전도도를 부여하면서도 술폰화도를 최소화하여 함수율 및 산화 안정성을 향상시킬 수 있다. 또한 본 발명에 따른 이온 교환막용 복합막은 나피온 대비 낮은 수소 투과도를 가지면서도 우수한 수소이온 전도도 및 기계적 물성을 향상시킬 수 있으며, 나피온과 공중합체 간의 친화력을 증대시켜 상분리 또는 스웰링 현상 없이 균일한 복합막을 형성할 수 있다. 나아가 이를 연료전지에 적용 시 전지의 성능 및 수명특성을 현저히 향상시킬 수 있다.
