Zusammenfassung:An apparatus for managing a battery pack according to an embodiment of the present invention, which is an apparatus for managing a battery pack provided with a fuse and a charge/discharge switch in a charge/discharge path through which a charge/discharge current of a battery flows, comprises: a voltage measurement unit configured to measure the voltage of the battery and to output a battery voltage value with respect to the measured voltage of the battery; a short circuit detection unit configured to measure the current of the battery, to determine whether a short circuit current flows in the charge/discharge path based on the battery current value with respect to the measured current of the battery, and when it is determined that the short circuit current flows in the charge/discharge path, to control the operation state of the charge/discharge switch to a turn-off state; and a control unit configured to receive the battery voltage value by being connected to the voltage measurement unit, to compare the received battery voltage value with a preset threshold voltage value and to control an operation of at least one of the charge/discharge switch and the short circuit detection unit according to the comparison result. The present invention can rapidly block the short circuit current flowing in the charge/discharge path. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 배터리 팩 관리 장치는 배터리의 충방전 전류가 흐르는 충방전 경로에 퓨즈와 충방전 스위치가 구비된 배터리 팩을 관리하는 장치로서, 상기 배터리의 전압을 측정하고, 측정된 배터리의 전압에 대한 배터리 전압값을 출력하도록 구성된 전압 측정부; 상기 배터리의 전류를 측정하고, 측정된 배터리의 전류에 대한 배터리 전류값에 기반하여 상기 충방전 경로에 쇼트 전류가 흐르는지 여부를 판단하고, 상기 충방전 경로에 상기 쇼트 전류가 흐르는 것으로 판단된 경우, 상기 충방전 스위치의 동작 상태를 턴-오프 상태로 제어하도록 구성된 쇼트 감지부; 및 상기 전압 측정부와 연결되어 상기 배터리 전압값을 수신하고, 수신한 배터리 전압값을 미리 설정된 임계 전압값과 비교하고, 비교 결과에 따라 상기 충방전 스위치 및 상기 쇼트 감지부 중 적어도 하나의 동작을 제어하도록 구성된 제어부를 포함한다.
