More specifically, the present invention relates to a composition for preventing and alleviating bone diseases which contains a Sageretia theezans leaf extract, and can provide the composition which can prevent and alleviate bone diseases by inhibiting osteoclast differentiation-related gene expression and osteoclast differentiation. In addition, it is possible to provide health functional food and a pharmaceutical composition containing the composition, and a method for preventing and alleviating bone diseases using the composition. 본 발명은 골질환의 예방, 개선용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 구체적으로는 상동나무 잎 추출물을 포함하는 골질환의 예방, 개선용 조성물에 관한 것으로써, 파골세포 분화 관련 유전자 발현 및 파골세포 분화를 억제를 통하여 골질환을 예방, 개선할 수 있는 조성물을 제공할 수 있다. 또한, 상기 조성물을 포함하는 건강기능식품, 약학적 조성물을 제공할 수 있으며, 상기 조성물을 이용한 골질환을 예방, 개선할 수 있는 방법을 제공할 수 있다.
