Zusammenfassung:	A secondary battery according to an embodiment of the present invention includes: an electrode assembly in a form of a jelly roll impregnated with an electrolyte; a battery case accommodating the electrode assembly and the electrolyte; a cap assembly coupled to an upper portion of the battery case; and a reference electrode having one end immersed in the electrolyte and the other end exposed to the outside through a space between the battery case and the cap assembly. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 이차전지는, 전해액에 함침되는 젤리롤 형태의 전극 조립체; 상기 전극 조립체 및 상기 전해액를 수납하는 전지케이스; 상기 전지케이스의 상부와 결합되는 캡 어셈블리; 및 일단이 상기 전해액에 담기고, 타단이 상기 전지케이스와 상기 캡 어셈블리 사이를 통해 외부로 노출된 기준전극을 포함한다.
