Zusammenfassung:	Disclosed are a criminal detection device and an operating method thereof. According to the present invention, in the criminal detection device and the operating method thereof, the degree of correspondence between a pre-stored eye area image for each of a plurality of ex-convicts and an image for an eye area of a suspect extracted from a photographing image of a crime scene, and personal information of the ex-convict matching the suspect is displayed based on the degree of correspondence on the screen, so as to assist the detection of criminals. 범죄자 탐지 장치 및 그 동작 방법이 개시된다. 본 발명에 따른 범죄자 탐지 장치 및 그 동작 방법은 미리 저장되어 있는 복수의 전과자들 각각에 대한 눈 영역 이미지와, 범죄 현장의 촬영 영상으로부터 추출된 용의자의 눈 영역에 대한 이미지 간의 일치도를 연산하고, 상기 일치도를 기초로 상기 용의자에 매칭되는 전과자의 개인 정보를 화면 상에 표시함으로써, 범죄자의 탐지를 지원할 수 있다.
