Flexible display apparatus and manufacturing method thereof

The present invention provides a flexible display device and a manufacturing method thereof which reduce a defect rate in a manufacturing process of the flexible display device. According to one aspect of the present invention, the manufacturing method of the flexible display device comprises the following steps of: preparing a flexible substrate having a display area and a peripheral area outside the display area; forming an inorganic film portion on the display area and the peripheral area of the flexible substrate; forming a plurality of organic light emitting elements on the display area of the flexible substrate; detecting a crack in an inorganic film portion formed on the peripheral area of the flexible substrate; and forming a crack induction hole in a surrounding portion of the crack. 본 발명은 플렉서블 디스플레이 장치의 제조 과정에서 불량 발생률을 감소시키는 플렉서블 디스플레이 장치 및 그 제조방법을 위하여, 본 발명의 일 관점에 따르면, 디스플레이영역 및 디스플레이영역 외곽에 주변영역을 갖는 플렉서블 기판을 준비하는 단계, 플렉서블 기판의 디스플레이영역 및 주변영역 상에 무기막부를 형성하는 단계, 플렉서블 기판의 디스플레이영역 상에 복수개의 유기발광소자들을 형성하는 단계, 플렉서블 기판의 주변영역 상에 형성된 무기막부의 크랙(crack)을 검출하는 단계 및 크랙의 주변부에 크랙유도홀을 형성하는 단계를 포함하는, 플렉서블 디스플레이 장치의 제조방법을 제공한다.
