METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR GENERATING TECHNOLOGY DEVELOPMENT MAP OF TECHNOLOGICAL DOMAINM

Disclosed are a method and an apparatus for generating a technology development map for a target technological domain. The disclosed method for generating a technology development map for a technological domain comprises the steps of: receiving a patent list included in a target technological domain; determining a plurality of minimum overlap classifications (MOC) for the target technological domain based on the lowest class of first and second patent classification codes assigned to each of patents in the patent list; clustering the plurality of MOCs according to the level of a technical distance value between the two different MOCs; generating the technology development map over time, with respect to target patents positioned at a target level. The MOC is a patent classification unit including at least one patent commonly included in the lowest class of the first and second patent classification codes.
