Zusammenfassung: | Provided is a method for producing Ac-225 from Ra-226, wherein the Ra-226 is present as a liquid solution in a recipient, the Ra-226 is submitted to a photo-nuclear process and the Ra-226 (γ, n) is irradiated to produce Ra-225 which then decays into the Ac-225, characterized in that the formed Ac-225 is collected by an electrochemical precipitation thereof on a cathode present in the recipient, and the cathode is removed from the recipient after the precipitation occurred and brought into a hot cell environment where the Ac-225 is extracted from the cathode. The present invention can avoid the recycling process of the Ra-226 after the chemical separation of the Ac-225.
