APPARATUS METHOD AND COMPUTER PROGRAM FOR PROVIDING FACIAL MOTION RETARGETING OF VIRTUAL CHARACTER BASED ON BASIS MODEL

A device for simulating an expression of a virtual character based on a basis model comprises: a selection unit for selecting any one virtual character among a plurality of previously registered virtual characters; an extraction unit for extracting a feature point for a user's face from a face image; an expression generating unit for generating an expression of the selected virtual character so as to correspond to the extracted feature point based on the constructed basis model; and a rendering unit for rendering by applying the expression of the generated virtual character to the virtual character.
