CONTROLLING MOVEMENT OF AN ELEVATOR CAR OF AN ELEVATOR SYSTEM

Disclosed is an elevator system for controlling movement of an elevator car to easily place the elevator car at a desired position of a hoistway. According to the present invention, the elevator system (1) comprises: a hoistway (4) extending between a plurality of platforms (8); at least one elevator car body (6) configured to move along the hoistway (4) between the plurality of platforms (8); an elevator actuator (5) configured to move the at least one elevator car body (6) along the hoistway (4); and an elevator control unit (9) configured to control the elevator actuator (5). The elevator control unit (9) is configured to be selectively operated in a maintenance mode or a normal operation mode.
