An object of the present invention is to provide an armrest for a chair that can support an arm as well as accommodate a writing instrument, etc. To this end, according to the present invention, the armrest for a chair provided to a seat portion through a support unit and supporting the arm of a user comprises: a storage case for supporting the arm, which is provided to an upper end of the support unit, is elongated in a horizontal direction based on the seat portion, and has an upper opening unit; and an arm support cover opening and closing the upper opening unit and supporting the arm of the user. 본 발명은 팔을 지지할 뿐만 아니라 필기구 등을 수납할 수 있는 의자용 암레스트를 제공하는 것이 그 기술적 과제이다. 이를 위해, 본 발명의 의자용 암레스트는, 지지부를 통해 좌부에 구비되며 사용자의 팔을 받치는 의자용 암레스트로, 상기 지지부의 상단에 구비되되 상기 좌부를 기준으로 전후 방향으로 길게 구비되며 상부 개방부를 가지는 팔 지지용 수납 케이스; 및 상기 상부 개방부를 개폐시키며 사용자의 팔을 받치는 팔 받침 덮개;를 포함한다.
