APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR MANUFACTURING FLOAT GLASS

An embodiment according to one aspect of the present invention provides a float glass manufacturing apparatus. An embodiment according to another aspect of the present invention provides a float glass manufacturing method for manufacturing float glass using the float glass manufacturing apparatus. The apparatus includes: a tub accommodating a molten metal so that a glass ribbon floats up; a ceiling wall disposed above the tub; a casing disposed above the ceiling wall and forming a space with the ceiling wall; heaters inserted into and passing through the through hole of the ceiling wall; and a gas supply pipe provided on the casing for gas supply to the space. The ceiling wall is divided into regions including at least three regions along the width direction of the glass ribbon in a longitudinal section over a predetermined length in the flow direction of the glass ribbon.
