The present invention relates to an insect feed using a medicinal herb byproduct, which shortens a manufacturing time of an artificial feed, improves the growth of insects, and can reduce the amount of an industrial waste by using a fermented additive obtained by fermenting a spent medicinal herb extract generated when a medicinal herb tea is prepared, with microorganisms, and to a manufacturing method thereof. The insect feed using a medicinal herb byproduct comprises a fermented additive obtained by mixing and fermenting a spent medicinal herb extract, a spent artichoke extract, and sawdust.
