Zusammenfassung: | A method for extracting an effective motion vector in motion search and an apparatus thereof are disclosed. The method for extracting an effective motion vector comprises: a step of determining a search start position in an original image to perform a spiral motion search; and a step of determining whether to perform a search in a sub-sampled image during a P-picture search. Detection accuracy can be improved by detecting a plurality of motion vector candidates by a subsampling search, which is a new hierarchical spiral motion search method that plurally combines an extension template with a spiral motion search while using a sub-sampled image.
