Power converting apparatus and home appliance including the same

According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided are a power conversion device and a home appliance having the same. The power conversion device comprises: an input unit including an alternating current (AC) connection unit receiving AC power from the outside and a direct current (DC) connection unit receiving DC power; a bridge diode unit formed of a plurality of diodes and connected to the input unit; a capacitor connected to a DC terminal which is an output terminal of the bridge diode unit; a DC terminal voltage detection unit detecting voltage of the DC terminal; a heater driven based on the voltage of the DC terminal; and a heater power supply unit arranged between the capacitor and the heater and supplying the voltage having different levels in accordance with the voltage detected from the DC terminal voltage detection unit to the heater. Therefore, the home appliance and the heater can be used for both DC and AC power. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전력 변환 장치 및 이를 구비하는 홈 어플라이언스는, 외부로부터 교류 전원을 수신하는 AC 접속부와 직류 전원을 수신하는 DC 접속부를 포함하는 입력부, 복수의 다이오드로 구성되고, 상기 입력부에 연결되는 브리지 다이오드부, 브리지 다이오드부의 출력단인 dc단에 연결되는 커패시터, dc단의 전압을 검출하는 dc단 전압 검출부, dc단의 전압에 기초하여 구동되는 히터(heater), 및, 커패시터와 히터 사이에 배치되고, dc단 전압 검출부에서 검출되는 전압에 따라 다른 크기를 가지는 전압을 히터에 공급하는 히터 전원부를 포함함으로써, 홈 어플라이언스 및 히터를 직류, 교류 전원 겸용으로 공용화할 수 있다.
