Zusammenfassung:	According to an embodiment of the present invention, provided are a power converting device and a home appliance having the same. The power converting device comprises: an input unit including an alternating current (AC) connection unit receiving AC power and a direct current (DC) connection unit receiving DC power from the outside; a bridge diode unit outputting DC power of a persistently constant polarity when the DC power is connected to the input unit and rectifying the AC power received through the input unit when the AC power is connected to the input unit; and a capacitor connected to a DC terminal which is an output terminal of the bridge diode unit. Therefore, the present invention can be used for both an AC distribution environment and a DC distribution environment. 본 발명의 일 실시예에 따른 전력 변환 장치 및 이를 구비하는 홈 어플라이언스는, 외부로부터 교류 전원을 수신하는 AC 접속부와 직류 전원을 수신하는 DC 접속부를 포함하는 입력부, 입력부에 직류 전원이 연결되면, 항상 일정한 극성의 직류 전원을 출력하며, 입력부에 교류 전원이 연결되면, 입력부를 통하여 수신된 교류 전원을 정류하는 브리지 다이오드부, 및, 브리지 다이오드부의 출력단인 dc단에 연결되는 커패시터를 포함함으로써, AC 배전 환경과 DC 배전 환경 겸용으로 사용할 수 있다.
