Zusammenfassung:	The present invention relates to a composition for inhibiting alcoholic liver damage containing an ark shell extract as an active ingredient. The ark shell extract, preferably an ark shell ethanol extract, can protect liver cells from hepatotoxicity caused by ethanol damage and regenerate the cells, and is excellent in reducing blood concentrations of alanine aminotransferase (ALT) and aspartate aminotransferase (AST) in an animal model which causes liver damage by feeding alcohol. The composition of the present invention can be usefully used as a health functional food for preventing alcoholic liver damage or as a therapeutic agent for alcoholic liver diseases. 본 발명은 피조개 추출물을 유효성분으로 함유하는 알코올성 간 손상 억제용 조성물에 관한 것으로, 상기 피조개 추출물, 바람직하게는 피조개 에탄올 추출물이 에탄올 손상에 의한 간세포 독성으로부터 간세포를 보호하고, 세포를 재생시키는 효과가 있고, 알코올 급여에 의해 간 손상을 유발한 동물모델에서 ALT(alanine aminotransferase) 및 AST(aspartate aminotransferase)의 혈중 농도를 저하시키는 효과가 우수하므로, 본 발명의 조성물은 알코올성 간 손상 억제용 건강기능식품 또는 알코올성 간 손상 질환의 치료제로 유용하게 사용할 수 있다.
