Provided is a manufacturing method of a panda type polarized light-maintaining optical fiber. By the manufacturing method, the specific amount of the core of the panda type polarized light-maintaining optical fiber becomes small, and the polarized light-maintaining optical fiber with small connection loss can be provided. The manufacturing method of a panda type polarized light-maintaining optical fiber comprises the steps of: (a) forming a primary strain providing portion in a preform having a core and a cladding; and (b) forming a secondary strain providing portion in a direction orthogonal to a direction connecting the primary strain providing portion. 판다(PANDA)형 편광유지광섬유의 제조 방법이 제공된다. 이 제조 방법에 의하여, 판다형 편광유지광섬유의 코어의 비원량이 작아지고, 접속 손실이 작은 편광유지광섬유를 제공할 수 있다.
