MEMORY SYSTEM AND OPERATING METHOD THEREOF AND DATA PROCESSING SYSTEM INCLUDING MEMORY SYSTEM

The present technique relates to a memory system supporting a recovery operation of a nonvolatile memory device included therein, and a data processing system including the memory system. The memory system comprises a volatile recovery selection register and a nonvolatile memory device. The memory system selects whether to perform a recovery operation on the nonvolatile memory device by checking a value of the recovery selection register after reset, and sets the value of the recovery selection register and then resets the nonvolatile memory device when a reset is requested from a host. The host reads first data set from the memory system through a first booting operation which enters during a power-on operation, requests the memory system to reset, and reads second data set from the memory system through a second booting operation which enters after the reset of the memory system. According to the present invention, it is possible to secure a sufficient time for the recovery operation of the nonvolatile memory device in the memory system. 본 기술은 내부에 포함된 비휘발성 메모리 장치의 복구동작을 지원하는 메모리 시스템 및 메모리 시스템을 포함하는 데이터 처리 시스템에 관한 것으로서, 메모리 시스템은, 휘발성 복구선택 레지스터 및 비휘발성 메모리 장치를 포함하며, 리셋(reset)된 후 복구선택 레지스터의 값을 확인하여 비휘발성 메모리 장치에 대한 복구동작의 수행여부를 선택하고, 호스트로부터 리셋이 요청되는 경우 복구선택 레지스터의 값을 설정한 뒤 비휘발성 메모리 장치를 리셋시키며, 호스트는, 파워온(power on)동작시 진입하는 제1 부팅동작을 통해 메모리 시스템으로부터 설정된 제1 데이터를 리드한 뒤 메모리 시스템으로 리셋을 요청하고, 메모리 시스템의 리셋 이후에 진입하는 제2 부팅동작을 통해 메모리 시스템으로부터 설정된 제2 데이터를 리드한다.
