Air conditioner and controlling method of the same

The present invention relates to an air conditioner and a control method thereof. According to an embodiment of the present invention, the air conditioner comprises: an image photographing unit; an image processing unit detecting user information through an image generated from the image photographing unit; and a control unit controlling the air conditioner through the user information detected from the image processing unit. The image processing unit comprises: a human body sensing unit sensing a human body from the image generated from the image photographing unit; and a human body tracking unit assigning a user identification number to the human body sensed in the human body sensing unit in order and tracking movement of the human body. 본 발명은 공기조화기 및 그 제어방법에 관한 것이다. 본 발명의 사상에 따른 공기조화기에는 영상촬영부, 상기 영상촬영부에서 생성된 영상을 통해 사용자정보를 검출하는 영상처리부 및 상기 영상처리부에서 검출된 사용자정보를 통해 공기조화기를 제어하는 제어부가 포함되고, 상기 영상처리부에는, 상기 영상촬영부에서 생성된 영상에서 인체를 감지하는 인체감지부 및 상기 인체감지부에서 감지된 인체에 차례로 사용자 식별번호를 부여하고, 그 이동을 추적하는 인체추적부가 포함된다.
