편광판 및 액정 표시 장치

본 발명의 목적은, 보호 필름의 두께가 얇더라도, 편광자와의 양호한 접착성을 갖는 편광판 및 그것을 포함하고, 광학 불균일이 억제된 액정 표시 장치를 제공하는 것이다. 본 발명의 편광판은, 폴리비닐알코올계 필름과, 그에 흡착 배향한 2색성 색소를 포함하는 편광자와, 상기 편광자의 적어도 한쪽 면에 마련된 보호 필름과, 상기 편광자와 상기 보호 필름 사이에 마련된 접착제층을 포함한다. 보호 필름은, 시클로올레핀계 수지와, 흡착 수분량이 1질량％ 이상 2질량％ 미만인 접착제 침투 촉진제 X를 포함하고, 보호 필름의 접착제층이 마련된 면으로부터 0.5 내지 3㎛의 영역에 있어서의 접착제 침투 촉진제 X의 존재율이, 보호 필름을 구성하는 전체 원자의 원자수의 합계에 대하여 0.1 내지 10atom％이며, 또한 접착제층을 구성하는 접착제가 보호 필름의 내부에 침투해 있고, 접착제의 침투 깊이 D가, 0.5 내지 3㎛이다. The purpose of the present invention is to provide: a polarizing plate which has good adhesion between a polarizer and a protective film even if the protective film is thin; and a liquid crystal display device which comprises this polarizing plate and is suppressed in optical unevenness. A polarizing plate according to the present invention comprises: a polarizer which comprises a polyvinyl alcohol-based film and a dichroic dye that is adsorbed and oriented on the polyvinyl alcohol-based film; a protective film which is arranged on at least one surface of the polarizer; and an adhesive layer which is arranged between the polarizer and the protective film. The protective film contains a cycloolefin resin and a glue penetration accelerator X that has an adsorbed water content of 1% by mass or more but less than 2% by mass; the abundance ratio of the glue penetration accelerator X in a region of 0.5-3 μm from a protective film surface, on which the adhesive layer is arranged, relative to the total number of all atoms constituting the protective film is 0.1-10 atom%; an adhesive constituting the adhesive layer has penetrated into the protective film; and the penetration depth D of the adhesive is 0.5-3 μm.
