Moreover, the control unit can obtain the replacement time of the filter by comparing an initial light amount of an infrared ray obtained when the filter is mounted with a light amount of an infrared ray obtained every predetermined cycle after the filter is mounted. 본 발명의 실시 예에 따른 공기조화기는 필터의 교체 알림 신호를 출력하기 위한 것으로, 내부로 흡입된 공기 중의 먼지 입자를 필터링하는 필터, 필터 방향으로 적외선을 방출하는 적외선 램프, 적외선 램프에서 방출된 적외선 중 필터를 통과한 적외선을 감지하는 적외선 센서 및 감지된 적외선의 광량에 따라 필터의 교체 시기를 획득하는 제어부 및 획득된 필터의 교체 시기에 교체 알림 신호를 출력하는 출력부를 포함하고, 제어부는 필터의 장착시 획득된 적외선의 초기 광량과, 필터의 장착 후 소정 주기마다 획득된 적외선 광량을 비교하여 필터의 교체 시기를 획득할 수 있다.
